Gallery Index

Introduction

The galleries present collections of images of philatelic items grouped by type and linked to the topics of the website.

If visitors would like to see all philatelic items from the same issue together, they can use the index page of the index page of the “Description” articles. There are currently more than 300 such articles, and new ones are added on a regular basis.

Each gallery category includes unused examples (shown on the left) and used examples (shown on the right) of philatelic material related to both primary and associated topics of the website.

Primary topics include dinosaurs and other prehistoric animals, prehistoric plants, fossils, as well as paleontologists and paleoanthropologists.

Associated topics include fossil sites, Natural History Museums, contributors to Paleontology or Paleoanthropology.

The galleries are designed not only for relaxed browsing, but also as practical tools for building personal topical lists and collections. By slowly scrolling through the “Postage Stamps” gallery, visitors can easily identify and group together stamps related to a specific subject, such as carnivorous dinosaurs, mammoths, or fossil birds. This approach allows all relevant material to be viewed in one continuous sequence, without being restricted by predefined categories.

The same exploratory method can be applied to other galleries. By browsing these sections, visitors can discover and group items related to particular themes, species, or geological periods. In this way, the galleries encourage active exploration and support the creation of thematic collections based on personal interests or research goals.

By avoiding rigid classifications, the gallery format promotes flexibility and discovery, making it equally useful for collectors, exhibitors, researchers, and all visitors interested in exploring the wide range of palaeontological subjects represented in philately.
